"JOIN SEED CERTIFICATION SCHEME FOR GENUINE AND QUALITY CROP PRODUCERS"

Planting material is an important basic input for crop production in Malaysia. Using the verified planting materials guaranteed the authenticity and quality breeds. Pure and quality crop production can only be done through strict procedures of crop production and the achievement of set standards. To realize these objectives, the Department of Agriculture has established a Seed Certification Scheme (SPBT).

Under the SPBT, the competent Inspecting Officer will verify clone seedlings of fruits that meet the prescribed standards. The confidence of buyer will rise to the nursery that produces the verified clone seedlings. SPBT is open to nursery crop producers all over Malaysia. Participation is voluntary and would not be charged.

Plant nursery producers participating in the SPBT will gain these following benefits :

• Have the opportunity to become a supplier of materials for agriculture crops under Department/Agencies;
• The plant that verified by the Department of Agriculture will increase confidence of the authenticity of the variety of plant;
• Department of Agriculture helping in promoting plant nurseries that participating in the SPBT through the exhibition and website of the Department of Agriculture;
• Receive advice and guidance from the Department of Agriculture Officer.

Pengusaha nurseri tanaman perlu mendaftar sebagai peserta skim dengan mengisi borang permohonan yang boleh diperolehi dengan memuat turun dari ABK 1 atau di alamat Urusetia Skim Pengesahan Bahan Tanaman, Bahagian Kawalan Kualiti Tanaman, Jabatan Pertanian Malaysia, Wisma Tani Aras 7, No. 30 Persiaran Perdana, Presint 4, 62624 Putrajaya.

Selepas menjadi Peserta Skim, pengusaha nurseri tanaman boleh memohon perakuan bahan tanaman mengikut jenis pengeluaran bagi jenis varieti tanaman yang terdapat dalam Senarai Varieti Tanaman untuk pengesahan SPBT. Jenis pengeluaran dan Senarai Varieti Tanaman untuk pengesahan SPBT sentiasa dikemaskini mengikut keperluan semasa.
